Ingleside Quilt Pattern Launch

Introducing the Ingleside Quilt

This pattern is inspired by my neighborhood here in San Francisco. This area is largely residential and is truly the heart of the city - where the people live, work, and play. This quilt perfectly represents the ever rising stacks of homes on the hillsides. The grid of the quilt gives the feel of the streets and the sharp angles of the architecture. Every morning when I look out my back window, I see the sun peaking over the San Bruno Mountain, shedding light on the wall-to-wall homes in the neighborhood.

Geometric. Sharp. Bold.

This pattern is rated at an Advanced Beginner level and is designed to be scrap and pre-cut friendly, with background fabric required. Pattern accommodates:

  • Scraps

  • Charm Packs

  • Junior Layer Cakes

  • Fat Quarters

  • Yardage

Cover sample uses fabrics from the WhatNot collection by Rashida Coleman-Hale for Ruby Star Society and Kona Cotton in Snow.

Long Arm Quilting by Thai Charm LLC.

Pattern Tester Versions and Variations

Melissa (IG: @made.x.mellybelly) got incredibly creative and made a secondary pattern in her sample, showing a rainbow wave in her squares. These colors are so bright and are well contrasted by the black background - it’s a true show stopper! Melissa also used some extra squares in her backing to give a bit more interest. The perfect way to use up the scraps!

Jeanne (IG: @jeanne.garcia) used these Ruby Star Society Darlings charm packs for her version of the Ingleside Quilt. The colors pop against the white background and the prints are on full display in all their glory. This version truly is darling and Leonard the cat approved!

Sarah (IG: @AcornCornerQuilts) created this Baby size quilt using Giucy Giuce fabrics against a crisp black background. The subtle prints are bold and give just the right amount of texture and movement in her version. It’s so striking!

Ursula (IG: @modern_rural_quilter) created the kit sample version of the Ingleside Quilt that is being offered through StitchCraft Boca. She chose the perfect backing fabric to compliment the quilt and showcased her beautiful craftsmanship!

Emily (IG: @HarkinQuilting) created the Large Throw size and used such gorgeous fabrics for her sample. The colors dance across the quilt and the prints are of full display in her version! It’s the perfect patchwork quilt!

Debora (IG: @rivera.debora) made a Baby sized Ingleside Quilt and made a great choice in using a light grey for the background. Her fabrics used in the squares give great contrast against the grey and make for a very beautiful and soft baby quilt!

Hui (IG: @AbrahamQuilts) made this bright and playful Small Throw sized quilt. The use of color and scale of print are a great feature in this version and really show how intricate this quilt can be! Hui did an amazing job making a bright and stash busting quilt!

Melanie (IG: @koalamommily) brought all the yummy texture with her version. She used a batik as the background fabric and it came together really beautifully with the solids as the feature fabrics. Her version has such beautiful contrast between the watercolor-like batik and the boldness of the solids. Amazing work!

Lydia Rose (IG: @Lydia.Rose.Arts) made this fully scrappy quilt from their stash and the result is amazing! The deep purples paired with the shades of green are so gorgeous together - then you throw in a cabin scene and suddenly we are all ready for the cozy seasons! Sheer perfection!

Jessica (IG: @SewMillieMae) created this adorable Baby sized quilt using a Layer Cake bundle. The gingham prints look so cute and give such a sweet sense of playfulness in this version. Love it!

I have been so amazed by the incredible works of this testing group. Each individual made the pattern their own and really demonstrated how fun and versatile this pattern can be. I am so grateful for everyone who was involved in this process and helped bring the quilt design to life! I cannot wait to see what more comes as this quilt pattern is launched into the world!
