Diamond Heights Quilt Pattern Launch

Introducing the Diamond Heights Quilt

Diamond Heights is a small residential neighborhood in San Francisco, located in the center of the city. The neighborhood is full of skinny streets and steep hills. It borders Glen Canyon Park, which has beautiful hiking trails and play areas. This design was brought to life by pulling together these defining elements: sharp angled streets, bold shapes on the mid-century modern Eichler homes, and the density of homes right on top of each other.

Bold. Energetic. Crisp.

This pattern is rated at an Advanced Beginner level, is traditionally pieced, and is perfect for showing off your favorite fabrics. Pattern includes three sizes: Baby, Throw, and Bed.

Cover sample uses Ruby Star Society Speckled fabrics in Polar, Turquoise, Teal, Navy, and White Gold.

Quilt kits in multiple color combinations can be purchased through the Sarah Jean Makes shop.

Pattern is also available for wholesale ordering. Click here for more information.

Pattern Tester Versions

Kaitlin (IG: @QuarterLifeLeap) made this darling baby sized Diamond Heights and made it her own by using pink and blue fabrics in the diagonal strip. Her version brings such a fun and vibrant energy to the design and I love how it all came together! Kaitlin is such a talented artist and maker and I am so impressed by her!

Alison (IG: @alriver809) created this vision in beautiful pinks and reds. She is such a talented maker and really helped bring this pattern to life. Her use of color and keen eye for detail really elevates everything she does! This baby sized quilt is just so lovely!

Rachel (IG: @littlebitsalove) started the test with wanting to lean into a mermaid color palette. I am so happy she went that direction! Her throw sized quilt came out so beautifully! The violet strips across the rich teals and lavender fabrics just dance across this quilt top. Rachel always has such a bold approach to color and she makes such beautiful pieces!

Ursula (IG: @osita_handmade) mixed and matched her fabrics on this baby sized quilt top and the results are incredible! She really showed how this pattern can evolve into a scrappy wonder! I love how these tones play off each other and the gray linen on the strips adds a softness. Ursula is such a talented maker and I am always so impressed with her creations!

Jeanne (IG: @jeanne.garcia) consistently blows my mind with her creativity. Her bold and bright colors in this quilt are so delightful and she took her efforts a step farther and free-motioned leaves into each block! Her work is incredible and she is constantly elevating her expertise. I am forever impressed by her style and approach!

Melissa (IG: @made.x.mellybelly) made a throw sized sample using some vibrant purples and pinks. Her version is absolutely electric and really pops with the bright white stripes! She has such an eye for color and is really such a fun and creative maker. I really enjoy seeing how she interprets her makes!

And really, a quilt swirl?! My favorite! I just love it!

Michonne (IG: @SilverLinedStitches) joined the test group for the first time and it was such a blast having her on the team! She let her daughter choose the color palette for this make and it came together so beautifully! Meesh is incredibly talented and was such a big support in helping this pattern be the very best it could be!

Erendira (IG: @MadeByErendira) made a baby sized sample and used the prettiest colors for her version! I love how they evoke happy summertime memories! Erendira is wildly creative and makes such amazing pieces. I am so grateful for her support in bringing Diamond Heights to life!

Kayle (IG: @kayleskounter) made this stunning throw sized Diamond Heights Quilt and the fabrics she chose are just amazing! I love how she used deep saturated blues and contrasted with the golden yellow strip - it really creates a striking effect! Kayle brings great energy to her projects and is so great to work with!

I’ve said it before and I will say it again, I have the best group of makers who really bring my designs to life. Each person who tested the Diamond Heights Quilt brought their own unique spin to the design. Their choice of color, layout, and quilting brought so much personality and versatility to the design. I’m so honored to be able to showcase their amazing work and so grateful to be able to know them! Be sure to give each of them a follow on their social media, you’ll love seeing what else they make!
